Jefferson County VINE Support
TN SAVIN offers operator help at all hours, in English, Spanish, or through an interpreter. Have the name handy. A booking number helps even more. The operator can assist with registration and notification. The Jefferson County Jail still answers questions about a fresh arrest. The Clerk answers for the case itself.
Keep your contact details current. A changed number can swallow a notice. So can a blocked call, a full mailbox, or a filtered email. One automated alert is never enough for urgent safety planning. Confirm any reported event with the facility.
TDOC VINE covers state-level events like location, transfer, sentence expiration, release, and parole eligibility. Those are separate from a Jefferson County release. The same statewide phone route reaches both.
VINELink in Jefferson County
The Tennessee Sheriffs' Association calls TN SAVIN a statewide automated victim information and notification program. It also says all 95 sheriffs take part. Reach it through VINELink or 1-888-868-4631. The legacy Jefferson County Sheriff resources page also links to VINE. That backs up its role as the county's custody-alert route.
Statewide participation does not mean every new arrest is indexed instantly. Nor does it reveal how Jefferson County configures its feed. VINE reports custody events in its participating system, plain and simple. It is not a full roster of everyone arrested in Jefferson County. It is not an incident-report database either. It is not a court-disposition service. The official TN SAVIN page describes participation and registration.

The capture provides the statewide basis for using VINE after a Jefferson County arrest.
Search Jefferson County on VINELink
Begin with identifying details. Skip the broad browse. A booking number beats a common name for a strong match. When only a name is known, compare every identifier and facility that comes back before picking a record.
- Open VINELink and choose Tennessee.
- Select the person or offender search offered by the live interface.
- Enter the full name and, when available, the booking number.
- Review possible matches for identity, facility, and custody state.
- Open the correct record and note the time of the status check.
- Call the Jefferson County Jail if the result is missing, unclear, or urgent.
Misspellings, aliases, a fresh booking, a quick release, or a transfer can all spoil a match. A failed result does not mean the person was never arrested. The Jefferson County arrest source map lays out the separate jail, police, records, and court routes.
VINELink Custody Result Fields
Details vary with the agency and the current interface. Read the result as a custody record, not a criminal-history summary.
| Result field | Meaning and caution |
|---|---|
| Name | Match with more than spelling alone |
| Booking or offender ID | Useful for a direct record match |
| Custody status | Status as reported to VINE |
| Facility | Reported holding location, subject to change |
| Release event | Custody change, not case dismissal |
| Transfer event | Movement between facilities or systems |
| Notification options | Channels available for that record |
A release means the hold is over. It says nothing about the charge being dismissed. A transfer means the original facility may no longer have the person, and court outcomes live with the clerk.
VINELink Search Screen
The VINELink home interface is the official search entry.

The interface may change. Follow its current Tennessee selection and identity prompts. Do not treat VINE as a mugshot source. It centers on custody status and notification. A booking photo may sit with the jail even when VINE never shows it. For a formal copy, a Jefferson County record request is the proper route.
Register for Jefferson County Alerts
TN SAVIN lays out a simple registration sequence: a phone number or email, plus a four-digit PIN. A live operator stands by around the clock with English, Spanish, and interpreter support. Once registered, alerts come to you rather than forcing repeated manual checks.
- Confirm that the selected VINE record matches the correct person.
- Choose the available release, transfer, escape, or custody-change notices needed.
- Enter the phone number or email requested by the interface.
- Create and retain the four-digit PIN used to confirm phone notices.
- Complete the confirmation step and save the registration details.
- Update or cancel the registration when the need ends.
The VINELink registration route displays the current alert process.

The capture shows the alert interface rather than any person's record.
Tennessee County and State VINE
County VINE and TDOC VINE track different custody stages. Someone held at the Jefferson County Detention Facility is a local question. After a transfer into Tennessee Department of Correction scope, the state system may send facility, transfer, sentence-expiration, release, or parole-eligibility notices instead.
| System | Scope | Companion source |
|---|---|---|
| County VINE | Participating county custody events | Jefferson County Jail |
| TDOC VINE | State correction custody events | TDOC FOIL |
| VINE Courts | Supported court event notices | County court portal |
FOIL covers felony offenders currently or formerly in TDOC custody, sometimes with a photo. It is not a county booking feed. A person can carry a Jefferson County case and never enter TDOC custody at all.
VINELink Limits and Verification
VINELink leaves out BOP federal custody, ICE detention, and many U.S. Marshals events. The BOP Inmate Locator and ICE Online Detainee Locator handle those, each on its own. A failed VINE search proves nothing about federal custody.
Data can lag intake. Confirm a fresh booking through the same-day Jefferson County path. You can also call the Sheriff/Jail line at 865-471-6000. The arresting agency holds the arrest report. The county court portal shows the case outcome. The county public-records form gets you booking material.
Note: VINE is not an emergency service; call 911 when immediate safety or emergency aid is needed.
Jefferson County Alert Troubleshooting
A search can return several similar names. Match on the booking number instead, or on age and birth data when the service shows it. Facility and arresting agency help too. If nothing lines up cleanly, call the jail. Ask which identifier fits the booking you need.
Phone alerts work the same way. Enter the PIN as instructed. Then confirm the change with the holding office before you plan around it. Automated notices only move as fast as the data feeding them, so delays happen.
Custody can shift between systems. A Jefferson County record that moves into TDOC scope belongs in FOIL. Add the TDOC VINE details there. Federal or immigration custody means switching to BOP or ICE instead. A county release is not freedom from every hold. Keeping these systems separate prevents that mix-up.
Note: Log each search and alert time, since custody can change after a notification goes out.
Custody Status Is Not Guilt
VINE reports custody, nothing more. It will not tell you how a case ends. For that, turn to the Jefferson County Online Court Records system or the Circuit Court Clerk, and request certified copies whenever you need an official outcome on paper.
Match a Jefferson County VINE Record
A shared name makes a single match risky in Jefferson County. Check the booking or offender number, the listed facility, and any identifying facts the record shows. Still unsure? Ask the jail which number belongs to the current booking, and save your search time in case VINE posts a later custody update.
Jefferson County Alert Recordkeeping
Keep a short log of every Jefferson County alert. Record the registration date, the notification type, the record identifier, and the facility. When an alert lands, note its time. Then confirm the event with that facility. The paper trail pays off when a person moves between county and state custody.
